Call for Artistic Director: 2021/22 and 2022/23 Seasons (Deadline - December 13, 2020)

Ottawa New Music Creators seeks its next Artistic Director to continue ONMC's streak of excellence and innovation in bringing the best of local, regional, national, and international contemporary classical music to a diverse audience in the National Capital Region.

The Artistic Director works alongside the Executive and Communications Directors to plan and implement a successful season of 4-5 concerts per year, plus a wide range of year-by-year partnerships and events for ONMC's membership of professional and student composers, improvisors, and performers. The team reports to a Board of Directors.

The AD works in a primarily volunteer capacity, on the basis of an honorarium. Primary responsibilities include the collaborative selection of artistic programming, communications with series artists, the implementation of one to two annual calls-for-scores, and miscellaneous collaborative tasks with the team.

The ideal candidate possesses experience in arts administration, deep ties to the local and broader contemporary music scene, a passion for arts advocacy, and a proclivity for creative and agile collaboration.

The prospective candidate may apply by sending a CV, a cover letter that speaks to the qualities outlined above, and a brief proposal outlining a vision for ONMC's 2021-22 season, to ottawanewmusiccreators@gmail.com. The deadline for applications is Sunday December 13, 2020; potential candidates will be contacted shortly afterwards.

Ottawa New Music Creators was formed in 2008 under an identified need to promote the sustained creation and dissemination of new music in Ottawa; 2021-22 will mark its tenth full concert season.
