Viktoria Grynenko is a young emerging performer born in Kyiv, Ukraine. She studied at the Kyiv Children's Academy of Arts and later at the Kyiv Glier Music College with well known Leonid Schuhman. Viktoria is a winner of two international competitions of Ignacy Paderewski (3rd prize, 2011) and "The Art of the XXI Century" (3rd prize, 2011). Viktoria was honored to be a soloist with the National Oslo Symphony Orchestra (2011). She perfected her skills at master classes with Anatoli Bazhenov, Taras Gabora and Jonathan Chan. In 2011 she received a scholarship from Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba (Winnipeg), and continued her studies in Canada with Oleg Pokhanovski. Currently Viktoria is pursuing Masters Degree of Violin Performance at the University of Ottawa under tutelage of Yehonatan Berick. Among the violinist’s hobbies is contemporary music and art.
In 2013 Viktoria organized and performed recital “Violin with Live Electronics” with 2 world premiers (“Xiatne” Zach Bales, “Transient” Henry J Ng) and Canadian premiere (“Toys” Mika Pelo). In 2014 Viktoria performed Stravinsky Violin Concerto at the international Stravinsky festival. The festival was held in the city of Ustyluh in western Ukraine, known as a place where Igor Stravinsky wrote his Firebird and The Rite of Spring. Grynenko is a member of contemporary ensemble Sonor Continuus based in Kyiv and led by Ukrainian composer Pavel Kolpakov. Throughout the last couple of years, Viktoria has collaborated with Ukrainian, Canadian and American composers performing their pieces with orchestra, chamber groups or solo.
