Sound performance at Fieldwork - this Saturday

Castorimba Sounds at Fieldwork.

Join Reinhard Reitzenstein, Gayle Young and Jesse Stewart for a live performance on Castorimba Suspended, a sound installation at Fieldwork. The installation is composed of almost 150 wooden sticks found on abandoned beaver lodges. These beaver 'chews' are suspended in 3 groupings with related pitches from wooden triangles that hang amidst the forest overlooking the beaver pond at Fieldwork.

Reinhard Reitzenstein is a visual artist who teaches at SUNY Buffalo. In addition to sound installations he creates large-scale outdoor works, sculptures using bronze and stone, drawings, and photographic works.

Jesse Stewart is a musician and visual artist who teaches at Carleton University. He creates gallery-based sound installations, plays a wide variety of instruments, and has recorded and performed with many well-respected musicians.

Gayle Young is a composer, instrument designer, musician and author. In addition to sound installations she has created instruments for use in microtonal music, and often performs with pre-recorded soundscapes.
